SYNOPSIS

More than 50 years ago, a group of graduates from the High School Affiliated with Tsinghua University came to the rural areas of northern Shaanxi, an old revolutionary area, to join the queue with high fighting spirit and great ambition to change the world.

Shocked by the barrenness of the land, they wanted to do something for the people in the old district. Xiao Yue and Ai Feng started a reform experiment.

There were very little medical treatments or medicine, and thousands of surgeries were performed. However, local farmers were still suffering and dying from diseases.

With their hard work, this group had slowly won the trust and love from the fellow villagers. They had truly integrated their lives into the local area.

By the end of the 1970s, the educated youth returned to the city where the college entrance examination resumed, and they all started a new life. After graduating from Tsinghua University, Xiao Yue entered an important national institution to participate in the research of economic system reform and Li Zhe studied at Harvard to study for a doctorate in medical science. This is a group of people of the same age in the Republic, a generation that is recognized as irreproducible at present, and a generation that shares the same fate with the country. All of their experiences are moving.
