SYNOPSIS

The drama sets in 1402, Sun Ruowei entire family is killed on the orders of the Yongle Emperor. Sun escapes death after being secretly adopted by Sun Zhong. Sun Ruowei becomes the concubine of crown prince Zhu Zhanji by chance, and continues to investigate the truth behind her family’s death. Sun falls in love with Zhu (becomes the emperor) and she forsakes revenge and opt to be a virtuous empress. The emperor dies making Sun the Empress Dowager along side her seven year old son who ascends the throne.
