Side Story of Fox Volant 飞狐外传 Episode 38

On the day of the headmaster meeting, Hu Fei took the stage on behalf of Huaquan Sect and won three consecutive games. Just when everyone thought that Cheng Linghu would be the top of the list. The smoker fighter came to challenge him with a pipe filled with hot burning charcoal. Hu Fei couldn't get close to him without getting burned. Cheng Lingsu went up to give Hu Fei a drink , he held the water in his mouth as the pipe is tossed into his face he would spit water to put out the flame. Hu Fei was able to beat him and won. The announcer screamed out Huaquan Sect has won! Some of the big bosses were very upset with this. The crowd was upset and started shouting and tossing things and asking for their money back.

Hu Fei thanked Cheng Lingsu for helping him with the plan to put out the flame or else he wouldn't have been able to beat the guy. Hu Fei said he said not to worry he will win the Jade Dragon Cup.

Fukangan held a conference with his soldiers watching over the fight and said tht Huaquan Sect being a small sect was surprise they had such a talent. He said that the martial arts world was full of hidden talents. He said he wants to see if the next day Hu Fei can win the tournament.

Tian Guinong's servant went to inform him of Hu Fei's win and to warn him to becareful in tomorrow's tournament. Tian Guinong said he is not afraid because he has the magical sword.

The royal official Hai was upset because he lost a total of 5,383,700 taels of silver from the bet for today's tournament. He was upset and screamed at manager Sai. Manager Sai said tthat he asked all his friends in the martial arts world but they didn't know who the mask man (Hu Fei ) was. He told him to use his brain and find out so he can win all that he has lost back.

Wang excitingly talked to his two brothers about the winning because of Hui Fei. Official Hai came in suddenly when the three brother were talking about winning big on the bet today at the tournament. Official Hai said that those silvers belong to him. Right when they offer to give it back to official Hai, he said they won so they can keep the silvers, but they have to tell him who the mask man is. 

Hu Fei and Cheng Lingsu, brother Ji and the little girl was eating and drinking to celebrate their win today. The little girl said she bet all her money today on Hu Fei to win and she got a total of 300 taels of silver and tomorrow she will bet off of it to grow it to 3000 taels of silver. Just as they were laughing someone called from the outside.

Wang told official Hai that they don't know the mask man. Under threats they said they do know him and that the mask man was bandit from the mountains.

Manager Sai was the man that was calling from outside Hu Fei's door. Cheng Lingsu and brother Ji answered the door while the other two went back inside.  Manager Sai said that official Hai asked him to come congratulate them on the win, and secondly he wants to ask them to make a deal. He offer them  a deposit and when the deal is done they will be well rewarded. He told Cheng Lingsu that they want him to win because everyone will be betting on him afterwards he wants the mask man to lose then they as the dealers will win big. Cheng Lingsui agreed to win a few matches then lose, but she wants him to find a honorable person for him to lose to not some random no bodies. He handed her the list of people who will be in the tournament tomorrow. The parties both agreed.

Wang and his two brothers had their hand on the list of people on the tournaments as well. Wang wants to bet tomorrow but their older brother said no bets tomorrow because tomorrow is a big day because it is the last day and the Red Flower Club will be there tomorrow. He said he can't get involve with either the royal family or the Red Flower Club. The big brother said they will take their winnings and leaves the city. 

Hu Fei counted the money and said that they were gracious with the amount of money they gave them as a deposit and asked Cheng Lingsu if she wanted him to participate in this farce. She said she don't care about the farce, but she has a plan. They have to wait for Shi Wanchen, and that he should play their game so that they won't be suspicious of them.

Tian Guinong's servant rushed in with bad news saying their madam Nan Lan released Miao Renfeng and has ran off with their daughter. He was furious and screamed on top of his lungs. The two servants watched him in fears. Tian Guinong painted the magical sword with poison to use  tomorrows.

The next day, Miao Renfeng is at his residence getting dress and he grabbed his sword. He went to tell Nan Lan to take good care of their daughter and that the martial arts world is not at peace and he needs to go. She agreed. He then told his daughter to stay home and kissed his daughterl's hand and as he was leaving he said his life was not in vain for he had the two of them in his life - then he left. Nan Lan with tears in her eyes, told their daughter that her father Miao Renfeng is a true hero.

At the tournament, Hu Fei and his sect were greeted with warm wishes. Manager Sia tells the other tournament fighters to lose to Hu Fei and they were not happy, but manager Sia assure them that they will be rewarded by official Hai. Cheng Lingsu tells Hu Fei not to be worried and that she saw Shi Wanchen's name on the list, and that he should play the part till he comes.

Fukangan suddenly gets a message from his servant, so he and his guards all went straight to the Nun and her two disciples. He claims that Yuan Ziyi had something to do with the Red Flower Club traitor Feng Tiannan. Yuan Ziyi had no way out but to tell the truth that she is Feng Tiannan's daughter and what he did to her mother. That the nun her master saved her from being sold to be a prostitute. Yuan Ziyi she buried her father because her flesh has came from him. Her burying him was only her doing and that it has nothing to do with her master (the nun) or the Tianshan sect. Her master said she will have Yuan Ziyi become a nun and that Fukangan can be their witness. Her master cut off Yuan Ziyi's hair as she cries. 

At the tournament, Hu Fei fighting and Cheng Lingsu said that he will beat the opponent right after she finish eating an apricot. Hu Fei was able to knock down the fighter right after Cheng Lingsu finish her apricot. Cheng Lingsu jokes with brother Ji that the next fighter will probably take as long as she finish eating a peach.  Hu Fei beats the second fighter.  The third fighter Ke Zirong enters the ring.  Cheng Lingsu said he seems strong, so she went  and hands Hu Fei a metal shield and sword to fight Ke Zirong. Manager Sia tells official Hai that Hu Fei will lose this match to Ke Zirong as per their deal, but Hu Fei won. Official Hai was real mad and manager Sia ran to talk to Hu Fei. As he was yelling at Hu Fei for not following their plan, Hu Fei screamed back at him saying that his fighter was the one who made the mistake. Hu Fei said that the fighter didn't keep their words, so the deal between them is off. 

Fukangan, the nun and her Tianshan sect. members walked in as they were the next fighters.
