The captain told Ding Kai heavily that the story of his rescue during the typhoon had been published in the online newspaper, but the company questioned that he did not return to the voyage in time when he went into the water to save people without authorization. The captain asked Ding Kai if he heard the order to return to the voyage after 20 minutes of losing communication. Ding Kai truthfully stated that after putting on his life jacket, he did not hear the order to return home.

The company believes that as a crew member, Ding Kai has the obligation and responsibility to protect the safety of the ship. Ding Kai suffers from no evidence to prove that he did not hear the instructions.

After investigation and evidence collection, the company proved that at the same time that the captain of the cargo ship sank, the captain of the Ocean issued an order to return. Everyone on the lifeboat heard clearly, except that Ding Kai said that he did not hear it.
