Du has now jumped into her first foray in the acting world by landing the main role in a web drama. The drama "Detective Girl 少女神探" recently released a poster for the new show online with her co-starring alongside rookie actor Li Yichen 李逸晨, with some saying that he bears a striking resemblance to a young Kris Wu. The poster has Du in a schoolgirl uniform, with Li in a suit and tie. Du will be playing a girl detective in the show.
The casting announcement was met with both well-wishers and critics on the Net. Du's former good friend Li En is none too happy about this and responded by posting various screenshots of Du's past. These pictures included posts of Du selling her own underwear, and charging men 350,000 yuan for dates, with one man calling Du a scammer for not providing him the services he paid for and so on. Du has yet to respond to any of these allegations.
Kris Wu was sentenced to thirteen years imprisonment for his crimes.
