Michelle Yeoh latest project was the sci-fi thriller "Everything Everywhere All at Once," where she portrays Evelyn Wang, an overstretched mother, daughter, and soon-to-be-ex-wife dealing with an unwelcome tax audit of her family-owned laundromat.
She has some exciting projects coming soon. She is starring in a new Transformers movie ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” as the voice of Airazor. This is the 7th installment of the Transformers film series. It will focus on the conflict between the Autobots, the main protagonists of the “Transformers” franchise; the Maximals, who are descendants of the Autobots; the Predacons, who are a subgroup of the Decepticons, the antagonists of the Transformers.
Ms. Yeoh is set to reprise her role in the upcoming Star Trek film, "Section 31," which will be an event film instead of a series. The movie is about her Discovery character Emperor Philippa Georgiou.
She will also appear in the highly anticipated sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), "Avatar 3," as a scientist named Dr. Karina Mogue. However, there have been reports that her role may have been cut from the final version of the film (I surely hope NOT!)
Yeoh has also landed a key role in the screen adaptation of Wicked as Madame Morrible. She is the headmistress of Crage Hall at Shiz University, where the two protagonists, Glinda and Elphaba, first meet. Yeoh will be joining the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, and Jonathan Bailey in the film. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu and is set to be released in 2024.
Winning the best actress Oscar for her role in "Everything Everywhere All at Once" made her the first Asian woman to win the award. Yeoh also won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture. She has been receiving long-deserved accolades and recognitions for her decades-long career.Yeoh's profile has risen, and her achievements are finally getting the recognition it deserves. She was also honored with the Women in Motion Award at Cannes. These recognitions have helped to cement her status as a trailblazer and a talented actress, and they will likely lead to more opportunities in the future.
