On December 22, 2021, By2's Yumi was taken to the hospital to have her stomach pumped by her sister Miko. Pictures posted on Weibo showed Yumi sitting in a hospital chair next to an individual assume to be Miko who appeared to be watching over her. In addition, paperwork from the Emergency Critical Care Departnebt and Red Zone 1-2 showed a statement of diagnosis that the individual in question was taken in for "drug poisoning". The article was posted on Weibo with the account name "Being a Child 007", tagged with the cryptic words, "Wang Leehom: If something happens to her, I will never forgive it!! You know best that Yumi didn't intervene in your trivial marriage!! If something happened to her, I will never forgive!!!" People are curious about the identity of the person who broke this news. Some speculate that the account belongs to the By2 sister.
On December 23, 2021, BY2's studio issued a statement in regards to all the drama surrounding Yumi. They said that they were rumors organized and planned attempts to maliciously slander BY2 and Yumi. The rumors are said to be only fabrications, Yumi did not attempt to commit suicide, and that all these rumors are "intended to slander Ms. Yumi's reputation to mislead the public to misunderstand and question her. These matters have already created great physical and mental damage to Ms. Yumi." They also stated that they have obtained partial evidence and reserve the right to take legal action.
