In 1938, when Sun Jiadong was only a child, he already had big dreams. It snowed heavily that winter. An international train crossed the border between China and the Soviet Union into Manzhouli Railway Station. Only a few people knew that this train was carrying a different gift. In 1958, Sun Jiadong woke up from his dream. He often dreamed of going to Manzhouli to pick up a missile, and he really saw it this time, just like seeing his first love. Director Chen gave Sun Jiadong a task. He went to the Soviet Union to study. The Soviet experts lacked a good translator, so Director Chen recommended Sun Jiadong. Sun Jiadong wanted to interpret for the Soviet missile expert Gedukoff, and he was already eager to try it when he heard the name.

Sun Jiadong went to do a translator for Gedukoff. He was picky and had changed several translators. Everyone was worried about whether Sun Jiadong could do it. Sun Jiadong’s performance was very good. He had excellent professional knowledge. He also pointed out Gaidukoff’s mistakes. Not only was Gaidukoff not angry, he also recognized Sun Jiadong. It turned out that this was his test. Sun Jiadong was left to work as Gaiduk. Husband’s full-time translator. One day, the soldiers suddenly assembled, and Sun Jiadong was among them. He was very excited when he saw the real missile for the first time. Gedukoff came here to teach everyone about this missile. Hearing that it could strike a target 10,000 kilometers away, everyone couldn't believe it. Sun Jiadong occasionally saw the old acquaintance Andre greeted warmly, but Andre completely ignored it.

In 1960. Today’s class was suddenly canceled, and all subsequent classes were also canceled. Sun Jiadong was puzzled and didn't understand why. Sun Jiadong went to see Gedukoff, and Andrei refused to say that he was unwell and turned him away. Sun Jiadong couldn't understand why he did this, so he went around in a circle to meet Gedukoff. Gedukoff confessed that there were some problems in the two countries and that the Soviet experts would all be withdrawn. He admired Sun Jiadong and wanted to take him to the Soviet Union to continue the missile mission, but Sun Jiadong refused. He studied in the Soviet Union because he wanted to learn knowledge and serve the results. Motherland, he has no reason to leave this land. Gedukoff was moved and asked Sun Jiadong to bring his colleagues, and he would teach them all the knowledge before leaving.

On the day that the Soviet experts left, they held a return ceremony for them. Gaidukov left a gift for Sun Jiadong, who was handed it to Sun Jiadong after he left. Andre provokes Sun Jiadong, they can't build a real missile. Sun Jiadong thought of the moment when the Soviet alma mater awarded him the Dalin Medal in 1956. Now looking at this medal, Sun Jiadong's heart is very complicated. Andre didn't fight for this medal, so he always hated Sun Jiadong, and Sun Jiadong was not proud. When did he get the medal of his own country, it was his true skill. Gedukoff left a drawing, but the most critical part was missing, but Director Chen didn't want to give it up halfway, and continue to do it no matter how difficult it is.

Sun Jiadong often studied late at night in the library, and was discovered by Dean Qian Xuesen one night. Both of them were locked in the library. Qian Xuesen prevented Sun Jiadong from jumping off. He still remembered his name and asked him to talk about his recent work difficulties. Sun Jiadong confessed that after the Soviet experts left, there were many problems left. Qian Xuesen gave him a solution. By using reverse design, he might be able to build his own missiles. Qian Xuesen firmly believes that the future world will even be in space.

Sun Jiadong quickly got his colleagues to calculate overnight, and finally found a solution to the problem. He added two pages of drawings. Director Chen was very pleased and announced that the domestic fuel had been qualified. Now everything is ready, but Dongfeng. With the joint efforts of Sun Jiadong and others, the missile was successfully developed and launched. A colleague gave Sun Jiadong a photo for him to go on a blind date. At first, Sun Jiadong refused to say that there was no time, but he was stunned when he saw the photo. When Sun Jiadong and Wei Suping met, they each held a newspaper, but looked at the blind date in the photo in their hands. Wei Suping found Sun Jiadong first and went shopping with him generously. During this period of time, Sun Jiadong and Wei Suping exchanged dozens of letters. Wei Suping chased Sun Jiadong and asked them what they thought of the matter. Naturally, Sun Jiadong was very satisfied, and so was Wei Suping. As a result, the two got married and held a simple but grand wedding under the witness of colleagues and friends.
