Although Mr. Qiu knows his name, he who is illiterate hopes that Pan Yuqing can teach him how to write it. Pan Yuqing takes out a pen and writes his name on the palm of his hand. Qiu Laobazi went to explore the road first, put leaves on the trees as markers along the way, and carried the shoulder pole buried by the road into the village. The village has been guarded by the Kuomintang military police. Zou Shubao was waiting for the signal from Qiu Laobazi on the mountain, but seeing the dark still did not see the signal, he wanted to act impatiently, but Pan Yuqing was extra cautious to let everyone wait patiently.

Qiu Laobazi found the haystacks at home, but found that he couldn't see it on the burning mountain. Pan Yuqing was annoyed that he had agreed with Qiu Laobazi to send Yang Xinchu to investigate the route down the mountain. As dusk fell, Qiu Laobazi wanted to light a haystack on the grounds of burning ash, but was stopped by the police as soon as he left the house. He was anxiously afraid that the time was too late, turned his head and looked at his house, and threw the haystack on it and poured oil on it. The whole house was burning. Pan Yuqing looked at the flames on the mountain but was helpless.

Old Bazi Qiu ran out of the house but was caught by Cao Ruiying. He shot Old Bazi Qiu and asked who he was reporting for. Old Bazi Qiu sneered into the raging fire and set himself in the house. Secretary Li took a small group of comrades and attacked Captain Ma’s camp. His intention was to draw Captain Ma away and buy time for Uncle Yang to go down the mountain. Cao Ruiying heard the gunshots but was unmoved. He knew that the really important personnel were just going down the mountain.

Pan Yuqing knew that Cao Ruiying was thoughtful. He decided to go to the village and contact the households first. If it was safe, he would raise a Bogong lantern, and they would take the foreigners down the mountain and leave from the west entrance of the village. He also told Zou Shubao and Yang Xinchu that no matter what they saw or heard, they would never go down the mountain without seeing the Bogong lantern. Pan Yuqing walked into the village calmly, and Cao Ruiying, who was ambushing by the side, just sent someone to follow him silently. Pan Yuqing came to the home of the joint household to communicate the evacuation route and then left. At the corner, he followed his secret agent uniform behind him and found that the area had been surrounded by the detective team.

In order to get out of Pan Yuqing pretending to be on the streets of the village, he turned his head and saw Cao Ruiying, who was hiding upstairs, avoided shooting in time, but was still caught by the spies. According to the list provided by Yu Changqing, Pan Yuqing’s identity had been exposed, and Cao Ruiying used his fist fiercely. Beating Pan Yuqing hard and torturing him, asking him to tell the direction of the foreigner, Pan Yuqing pretended to agree to point out that the foreigner was at the east entrance of the village and took the opportunity to sing a folk song. This was the signal he had agreed with the contact person, as long as he sang folk songs, he would hang the Bogong lantern.

Zou Shubao knew that Pan Yuqing was in trouble but the task was big, so he quickly led the foreigner into the contact house through the back door. It was the first time that Cao Ruiying was deceived face-to-face by telling the truth. Pan Yuqing was tied to a pillar and mocked him if he shed a few more tears, it would be more real. Cao Ruiying read the Communist Party's oath to join the party. He couldn't figure out that the Communist Party would be able to hold it with just a few words. Pan Yuqing told him that it was the ideals in the hearts of the Communists.

Pan Yuqing has been in the party for six years, but Cao Ruiying feels that he has followed the Communist Party for six years and came to the end of his life. Pan Yuqing told him that his life is short and he can spend it in a muddle-headed manner, but he can also drive more people to a better and more dignified new life. Pan Yuqing asked Cao Ruiying how many people were on his boat. Cao Ruiying said frankly that there was only one person on his boat. Pan Yuqing jokes that this is why he feels lonely.

Commander Ma brought only one company but was ordered to search Wanqing Dashan. He refused to cooperate with Cao Ruiying's order. But Cao Ruiying was very resentful. He couldn't swallow such a breath when he saw that only a few Communists had repeatedly transported materials and personnel from his own hands. Seeing Cao Ruiying who was so gagged, Head Ma sneered at him.

Zou Shubao took the uncle Yang to leave in the dark, propped the boat with the uncle Yang to Ding Zhengchang, and entered the home of the coupler.
