Tao Junran rescued Ah Fan, severely injured his relatives, and imprisoned him on Nanlin Island. Yun Hean was imprisoned by Tao Junran, and his brother Yun Jiayu brought a handwritten letter from the Queen Mother and recalled Yun Hean to Kyoto overnight. Yun Jiayu unexpectedly discovered that Ah Fan had the same half-shakuhachi as himself. Tao Junran took Ah Fan to Fayun Temple for treatment of eye diseases. After taking the medicine too violently, Ah Fan fell into suspended animation. After this incident, Tao Junran more and more confirmed his feelings for Ah Fan. Tao Junran interrogated the relatives and discovered that he deliberately concealed the whereabouts of a missing merchant ship. At this moment, Yun Jiayu moved to the next door of A Fan's house. Yun Jiayu met Ah Fan by apologizing for her sister, and the two had a very happy conversation at first sight. Tao Junran saw Yun Jiayu approaching A Fan, but he was at odds with A Fan instead of obstructing him. Yun Jiayu took Afan out to "walk the butterflies" as an excuse, using a poisonous bee to make Afan jump into the lake, and saw a mysterious birthmark on Afan's shoulder blade. A Fan jumped into the lake to catch the cold, and Tao Junran appeared and forced A Fan away.
